What we collect

• Email address and display name when you create an account.
• Profile information you choose to add (bio, avatar, specialties).
• Recipes, images, and collections you create.
• Usage data such as session tokens for authentication.

How it's used

• Authenticating you and maintaining your session.
• Storing and displaying your recipes and collections.
• Sending transactional emails (verification, password resets).
• Personalising your experience (profile, preferences).

Legal basis for processing

• Consent — you provide your information when creating an account.
• Contractual necessity — processing your data is required to provide the service (storing recipes, managing your account).
• Legitimate interest — anonymous analytics to understand usage and improve the product.

Third-party services

We use the following services to run Remixipe:

• Google OAuth — optional sign-in method. Google receives your authentication request but not your recipe data.
• PostgreSQL — database for accounts, recipes, and collections.
• S3-compatible storage — recipe images and avatars.
• Resend — transactional email delivery (verification, password resets).
• Vercel Analytics — anonymous, cookie-free web analytics.

Cookies and sessions

Remixipe uses a single session cookie managed by Auth.js to keep you signed in. We don't use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your recipes, collections, images, and profile data are permanently removed. Account deletion is available from your profile settings.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information in your profile.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Export your recipe data.
• Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

Age restriction

Remixipe is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

International transfers

Remixipe is hosted on Vercel, which may process data in locations outside your country. By using Remixipe, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations.

Policy changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the bottom of this page. For significant changes, we'll notify you via email.
