What we collect

• Email address and display name when you create an account.
• Profile information you choose to add (bio, avatar, specialties).
• Recipes, images, and collections you create.
• Usage data such as session tokens for authentication.
• Pseudonymous analytics data: page views, feature interactions, and error events linked to an internal user ID (not your email address).

How it's used

• Authenticating you and maintaining your session.
• Storing and displaying your recipes and collections.
• Sending transactional emails (verification, password resets).
• Personalising your experience (profile, preferences).

Legal basis for processing

• Consent — you provide your information when creating an account.
• Contractual necessity — processing your data is required to provide the service (storing recipes, managing your account).
• Legitimate interest — pseudonymous analytics (linked to an internal ID, not your email) to understand usage and improve the product.

Third-party services

We use the following services to run Remixipe:

• Google OAuth — optional sign-in method. Google receives your authentication request but not your recipe data.
• PostgreSQL — database for accounts, recipes, and collections.
• S3-compatible storage — recipe images and avatars.
• Resend — transactional email delivery (verification, password resets).
• PostHog — product analytics (page views, feature usage, error events). PostHog receives a pseudonymous internal user ID and display name, not your email address. Data is processed on PostHog's US servers. See PostHog's privacy policy. PostHog's privacy policy.

Cookies and sessions

Remixipe uses a session cookie managed by Auth.js to keep you signed in. We also use PostHog analytics cookies (ph_ prefix) to maintain a pseudonymous analytics identity across sessions, but only if you consent to analytics cookies. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time from the cookie banner or in your account settings. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies for marketing purposes.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your recipes, collections, images, and profile data are permanently removed. Account deletion is available from your profile settings.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information in your profile.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Export your recipe data.
• Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

Age restriction

Remixipe is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it. contact us

International transfers

Remixipe is hosted on Vercel and uses PostHog for analytics, both of which process data on servers in the United States. By using Remixipe, you acknowledge that your data (including pseudonymous analytics) may be transferred to and processed in the US or other countries outside your own.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the bottom of this page. For significant changes, we'll notify you via email.
